Update from Onesimo and Marilda de Arruda in Brazil

June 21, 2007

Dear prayer partners and friends,

It has been quite a while since we last wrote — please forgive us!! The month of May went by so quickly and we are so involved with the work that we are only now catching up with you.

Praise the Lord the ministry is going well. Believe it or not, we are finally getting some cold weather, not freezing, although it did freeze in southern Brazil. It feels good to have a change. The team is convinced that only preaching from Scripture has the relevance and strength to stand up boldly in the spiritual climate of this religion-saturated island.

Homes for the Homeless - Grenada

June 1, 2007

This week Ministries In Action’s Homes for the Homeless committee is working diligently to have the foundations of homes nine and ten (of twenty) poured and ready for summer work teams.  To date there are three work teams scheduled to visit Grenada.  The first team, a group of men from the Ministries In Action Thursday Morning Bible Study in Miami, FL heads to Grenada on June 12th.  The Homes for the Homeless committee is having a difficult time completing the foundation work, because local suppliers and labors are beginning to associate the Homes for the Homes projects with American dollars, making difficult for the committee to secure fair pricing.  It is important that the foundations are complete prior to the arrival of the work teams.
